Moss: "There Is Life After Matrix"
El Periodico (Spain) (11/04/03)

After being mother, the actress that plays Trinity wants to open a new chapter in her career.

Ten years ago, Carrie-Anne Moss - Trinity for the matrixaddicted- had installed in Barcelona to work in the shooting of a TV3 series (catalan tv, t.n.) Justicia Fosca (DARK JUSTICE). She then can not imagined that after a decade she will become a big star of the sci-fi cinema. With the premiere of the maternity, the actress gets EL PERIODICO in Los Angeles for an interview about the impact of the trilogy.

Is it hard to say goodbye to Matrix?

Of course. The last day of shooting my scenes the crew organized a little party, we toast with champagne, everybody congratulated me for my work and I cried as a child, as saying goodbye to my colleagues of school. I couldn't believed that everything was finished. I had invested six years in this trilogy, and I have no doubt that this had been the most extraordinary experience of all my career. I had given everything that I have inside me. But there is life after Matrix. Now the moment has come to leave Trinity and to begin a new chapter.

Everything that has a beginning has an end, says the poster of the movie.

Yes it is like this. When I saw the poster for first time, I was almost crying, because this is how I lived it.

How the Matrix experience had changed you?

Every day of shooting was a new lesson for me. I've learnt a lot as an actress and had changed my vision of what is cinema. Now I won't be able to work in a movie with a script that don't apassionate me and with a crew of mediocre artists. You can not pass of this to do something to continue just working. By other hand, there is more people that want to work with me, that is a big luck.

Do you get impressed for all the attention you're getting?

I've been a time in the business and fame hadn't gone to my head. My family and friends don't allow it.

Now you begin a new period, the mother one. How do you wait you will combine profession and maternity?

I don't know, I'm open to suggestions. By now, the most important in my life is my baby, I'm only thinking in the day to day. I'm sure that I'll work again, but I don't know where and when. Only I know that I'm not going to be a half day mother. I've been waiting a lot of time for being mother and I know that I'll have to sacrify something of myself and of my career, but which mother hadn't did it? It is part of the role.

Now that you're mother, you wait to contribute more in do a better world for your children?

You don't have to wait to be mother to do it. You have to begin for being a positive person and generous with your family, friends, neighbours, community. There is a lot of people that wants to save the world but after are despot and arrogant with the cashier of the supermarket. This is something that I can not suffer.

Do you think that your generation and your children is more capable to do a better world?

I'm sure that our children will be more intelligent, strong and sensitive and socially aware to work for a better world.
